All of us are vulnerable to the scrutiny of others; we want them to accept and approve of us. But what if they don't? It can hurt to be misunderstood, or to have someone judge you harshly or accuse you falsely. This might even work the other way around: Others may think you are bigger, better, brighter than you see yourself. Either way, it is your own opinion of yourself that matters most. After all, you are the one person who you live with every day, the one person whose opinion you can never escape. Not only does this mean your opinion should count most, but it also means you are the one most qualified to have an opinion on the matter.
Be a taste berry: Do these things to assure that your opinion of yourself is a positive one. In the least, be opinionated enough to have an opinion!
"The opinion you have of yourself should not only count as much as anyone else's, but even more"
- Jennifer Leigh Youngs
